Regular Season Registration occurs during 3 periods in the year (additional registration periods may be added for summer lacrosse, camps or clinics).

  • Early Registration – This happens during June at the tail end of the previous season.  Players are encouraged to commit to the next season and receive a discount on the fee.

  • Fall Registration – This happens during to the fall (October – December) and we are looking to get player commitment in order to determine how many teams we should declare with the league for each age group.

  • Winter Registration (TBD) – This happens in February up to the beginning of the spring season.  Since we have declared the number of teams we only open up registration if there is room for more players on the teams and, if the cap has been reached, your son would be put on the waitlist and may not get a chance to play. We highly encourage players to sign up during early or fall registration.

Registration is done on-line.  Select Register Online on the left menu, find your son’s age group click Begin Registration. The registration fees will be listed for each age group.

US Lacrosse
US Lacrosse is a national organization that strives to provide programs and services to inspire lacrosse participation, while protecting the integrity of the game.  With the WYLA registration, players are also registered with US Lacrosse. Westborough Youth Lacrosse as an organization is also a member. Through the fees we pay, US Lacrosse members receive Accident and Liability insurance coverage. All of our players must be US Lacrosse members for the program and participants to be covered. Memberships are 1 year in length. Note that many camps and clubs also require a membership so it is useful to keep your number where you can find it again.  US Lacrosse provides education, training and certification for coaches and referees. They also provide useful tools, drills and other resources for coaches and programs.  They are the national rule making body for youth and collegiate Lacrosse in the US.

MBYLL (Mass Bay Youth Lacrosse League)
US Lacrosse is divided into regional chapters across the country.  Westborough Youth Lacrosse is affiliated with the Mass Bay Youth Lacrosse League (MBYLL) which covers eastern Massachusetts.  It is the largest chapter in the country with 125 towns, 800 teams and 15,000 players.  Our schedule and rules are set by the MBYLL based on recommendations from US Lacrosse. MBYLL also organizes the year end
Jamboree, which is the largest youth lacrosse event in the country with 480 teams playing on two dozen fields over two weekends in June.  MBYLL is divided into six regions – Northeast, Northwest, Metro West, West Central, South Central and Southeast, Cape & Islands.  WYLA is part of the West Central Region.
